Archiving and Long-Term Preservation Policy

The journal "Law and Sciences" ensures the long-term preservation and accessibility of published materials in accordance with the principles of open access.

LOCKSS

The journal uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system for the long-term preservation of digital content. LOCKSS is open-source software developed by Stanford University that creates a distributed network of archival copies, ensuring the preservation of published materials even in the event of technical failures or cessation of the publication.

The LOCKSS system provides:
- automatic backup of all published issues;
- distributed storage of content across servers of participating libraries;
- regular integrity checks of archival copies;
- uninterrupted access to published materials.

Journal Website

All published issues and articles are permanently available on the journal's website in PDF format. Each article has a standardised URL and a registered Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring permanent access regardless of changes to the website address.

DOI registration through Crossref provides an additional layer of metadata preservation for all published articles and enables their identification regardless of technical changes to the journal's website.
